 Bone Health and Cancer

Bone health is threatened for many patients with breast or prostate cancer because many cancer treatments cause bone loss. Bone loss may also result from decreases in estrogen (related to surgery and/or cancer medications), a primary female hormone. In addition to its role in female development and reproduction, estrogen increases bone density (size and strength), prevents bone loss, and lowers the risk of fractures. In addition, hormonal therapies such as aromatase inhibitors for breast cancer and androgen-deprivation therapy for prostate cancer, are known to cause bone loss. Cancer survivors are at in increased risk of bone loss associated with changes in nutrition, weight loss, and inactivity due to illness.

The BioStrong Studio system provides a safe and effective alternative to currently available treatment options and may be used alone or in combination with other prescribed remedies.
